The Church

Being a catholic, I would want to be joined in marriage by God and to receive His everlasting blessings.

I checked with my Priest and have been informed that we can only have our Catholic Rite of Marriage in the church. Due to time constrain, it would definitely be ideal if we can have the Priest conduct the Rite of Marriage at the hotel. Besides, in order for us to have our wedding in the church, it is compulsory for us to attend either a 3D2N marriage encounter or a ‘6-Sundays’ Marriage Preparation Course. Without completing any of these, the priest will not perform the matrimony.

I consulted him and asked for his opinion. I know it is difficult for a non-believer to go through such a course and I was willing to be persuaded to just have a simple solemnisation at the hotel. This would solve all our problems without having to worrying about any time-constrain, church venue etc. On the other hand, it is still my greatest wish to have a church wedding.

Surprise surprise, God always have better plans for us. Joe has agreed to go through the 6-weeks course and would comply to do anything possible for us to have a church wedding.

No words can express how touched I was by his graciousness and thoughtfulness.

This Sunday is our 3rd week of the Marriage Preparation Course and without a doubt this is not an easy perseverance. Having to wake-up early and spent the whole morning attending something that he doesn’t truly believe.

All I can conclude is God is Great! God will make anything possible for us! May God continue to bless us, give us strength and perseverance to complete this course, and may our church wedding as well as our wedding day, 16 OCTOBER 2009, be a smooth and memorable Day.
GOD BLESS!
