Key Collection

Finally, after the long awaited 2½ years, we have received the TOP confirmation! Initially we were really disappointed as out of the 3 blocks we were the last block to collect our keys which is after 2011 CNY. The other blocks were able to collect their keys before CNY.

We were still extremely pleased and excited about the collection of our keys. Even though we were schedule to collect our keys in the morning, both of us have taken the whole day off, so to have the entire day to plan, verify the defects and of course, enjoy the view we long for.

Many thanks to the modern technology of internet, there was a forum dedicated to the building of our new flat and I believe many have benefited from this forum. We were informed of various details of our flat even before we collect our keys, which we were able to note and verify the defects effectively. What’s more, we have also taken advantage of the bulk purchases organised by the forum, e.g. solar firm, electronics, lightings etc.

I thought it would be nice to view our empty home, as well as the progress of some simple renovations and finally the end result including the furniture.

1st Year Anniversary

It was our 1st year anniversary, thereafter, we are no longer newly weds.

We had make plans for dinner that day but I also include a massage session for both of us.

A quick bite before the massage, having my favourite xiaolongbao!

Massage @ couples room.

Dinner @ Ritz!

This is the best part of the day. The variety and food was wonderful. Mostly seafood with enormous prawns.

Starting off with sashimi and cold prawns

Follow by succulent oysters

Fresh drunken prawns and cheese platter to go with the wine.

More fat prawns with scallops

And finally, beautiful flowers to go with the dinner.

Just some initial ideas for our home

Right now its design-looking and furniture-hunting time for us. We had news that we will be able to collect our keys in September and move-in in December this year. Hurray! Can’t wait…

Over time, we window-shop at few furniture showrooms and browse couple of interior design magazines. Fortunately it seems like up-until-now, we do not have much conflict about the designs.

I personally love furniture that are transparent, like the transparent dining chair, bubble chair etc. He didn’t seem to mind. He likes water-features around the house, and perhaps a bath-tup, I’m fine with that too.

Ang Pows Distribution

Chinese New Year’s few days away. One of the main cons being married, is the obligation to distribute ang pows.

Have just started packing them. Still clueless about the market rate, the family rate, the strangers rate etc. Fortunately this year, we do not have to queue for new notes, but we should be involved in that traumatic experience next year.

Wishing everyone a prosperous Lunar New Year.

2010

Guess I should put something for the new year, 2010.

2009 has been an exciting year for both of us. A big step to a new chapter in our life.

In 2010, something else to look forward to is our new home. Although TOP is expected to be in 2011, we are confident that we will be able to collect our keys toward the end of this year. If we’re lucky, we might be able to get it by June 2010! Keeping our fingers and toes cross.

Marriage Life

Haven’t been updating after the wedding, or rather after our honeymoon.

Back to work immediately after long vacation. Coping with work backlog, tying up loose ends after the wedding and adjusting to our new life together.
It has been 2 months we spent our marriage life together, so are we still newly weds? Many asked, how’s marriage life… don’t know the answer, nothing much has change really…
We have planned not to travel after the wedding since we have exhaust most of our time and finance in our wedding and honeymoon.
Surprise surprise, we have been invited to join our family and friends for short trip (twice), within these two months. Moreover, these trip did not effect our working schedules as they were over the weekend.
